The Department of Pediatrics at this prestigious medical school is currently seeking candidates for a faculty position in the Division of Pediatric Hospital Medicine. Duties include inpatient care at the University’s Womens and Childrens Hospital, the primary referral center for the region, and teaching medical students and residents. Pediatric emergency services are provided in a new, 26-bed, state-of-the-art Pediatric Emergency Department within a dedicated children’s hospital. Position Overview

The Division Chief will set an innovative, forward-looking vision for the continued growth, quality, and fiscal vitality of Pediatric Emergency Medicine by:

  • Maintaining and expanding high-quality educational programs
  • Advancing scholarship and clinical research initiatives

Qualifications

  • MD or DO; Board Certified in Pediatric Emergency Medicine
  • Eligible for Alabama medical licensure
  • Academic rank of Associate or Full Professor (or eligibility)
  • Experience in a complex, integrated academic medical environment
  • Demonstrated success in academic leadership, operations, and resource management
  • Strong record as an educator of students and residents
  • Ongoing scholarly activity and experience mentoring trainees and junior faculty
  • Excellent communication skills and professional reputation
