Lead Compassionate, Patient-Centered Care

We are seeking a Hospice & Palliative Care Medical Director to provide clinical leadership for a growing hospice and palliative care program while working alongside a dedicated interdisciplinary team committed to exceptional patient care.

Position Highlights

• Medical Director role providing oversight for both hospice and palliative care services
• Blend of leadership, direct patient care, mentorship, and program development
• Collaborate with physicians, APPs, nursing, social work, chaplaincy, and care management teams
• Lead quality improvement initiatives and ensure regulatory compliance
• Opportunity to help expand outpatient palliative care services
• Physician representative on the hospital Ethics Committee
• Report directly to the Chief Medical Officer
• Participate in strategic planning and program growth initiatives

Responsibilities

• Provide medical direction and clinical oversight for hospice and palliative care programs
• Perform hospice certifications and recertifications
• Manage complex symptom control and supportive care consultations
• Mentor physicians, nurse practitioners, and interdisciplinary team members
• Promote evidence-based, compassionate end-of-life care
• Participate in quality, accreditation, and performance improvement initiatives
• Assist with policy development and community outreach
• Attend interdisciplinary team meetings and key medical staff committees

Qualifications

• MD or DO
• Active, unrestricted medical license
• 3–5+ years of clinical experience in gerontology, primary care, hospice, or palliative medicine
• Board certification in Hospice & Palliative Medicine or related specialty preferred
• DEA registration
• Leadership or administrative experience preferred
• Strong knowledge of hospice regulations and Medicare requirements
